Help with Essay on Checks and Balances Please?

I have to write an Essay for American Government class. The 1st Body paragraph has to be about the Exec. Branch of Gov. followed by the Leg. and Jud. Branches. I have no idea where to begin. Any suggestions or paragraphs would be much appreciated, Thank you!
