I'm stuck between finishing college or entering into the United States Marine Corp..?

Now my situation is right now I'm in college, I am currently a sophomore in college and I'm on track to enter into dental school and in turn, a dentist. My father was a marine though, Force Recon to be exact, yet doesn't want me anywhere near the USMC. He says I have too much of a future for it and attacks any recruiter that comes knocking on our door. I have always wondered about being a part of the finest fighting force in the world and my practice ASVAB allowed me to pick my MOS. My father is convinced though that no matter what, its just a joke and they always put you into infantry, as they did to him even though the USMC has sworn to have changed their tactics. I'm not sure what to do, who to believe. Both my father and the USMC recruiter are the greatest salesman in the world and I need some true insight from a third party. What do I do?
