How hard is it to get back into the swing of school after my 4 years in the marine corps?

You should just try to get a ROTC scholarship. If you fail, then don't worry. School should be just fine. You'll be more mature at the very least. Not sure how remote your college of course would be, but I'm pretty sure you can still have a social life with people your age.
