Why is being a woman raising her family not worth much anymore?

Family comes in second to material things.. Society's praises go to rock starts, CEO's and successful latter climbing enterprenuers...not to the humanitarian mother Theresa's of the world. It's difficult for children to respect materialistic parents who place possesions over them. While the feminist movement's goal was for equal pay and treatment, the taste of higher salaries produced greed for more stuff. A newly married couple can't stomach living in a small beginner home or drive a used vehicle.
