Hi, I'm 21 years old and I feel like I'm going crazy. I keep thinking I hear music when there is none around (no I don't listen to music that much). My eyes sometimes feel like they're fuzzy, swollen, floating. I feel like there's some kind of chemical imbalance in my brain. I don't know. I have extreme social anxiety at times. There's been a few times that my vision has been blurred or my perifreal (sp?) vision has completely went blurry, but my head didn't start hurting until afterwards. I'm worried I might be bipolar, because it does run in my family (bipolar has been linked to genes). I'm also worried I might have a brain tumor. I know I sound paranoid, but i've looked up symptoms and I do have some of them. Can anybody tell me if they have had/ or know someone with bipolar disorder or a brain tumor? How did that person feel or act?? I know this sounds crazy, but I need some advice. The past few years i've slowly started slipping away from who u was before. I feel like I'm just a shell. Most flat roofs have a drain, its normally a requirement, but I dont know that particulars of the roof in question. If this is a residence and its a small overhang roof without drainage, it will eventually leak, I dont care what its made out of. Throwing more stuff on top of it isn't going to make any difference, in fact it may make it worse. If its exposed now and the water evaporates quickly then its not as big a worry, if not then it should be resurfaced.

hmmm. interesting. when i write a program/script in perl it does the same thing, but when i type in simple commands on command prompt (through text editor), i keep the window open by using a command that needs input, e.g TIME, or PAUSE. see if that helps.(of course try it using commands for php). also make sure that command prompt can *understand* php, you might have to download an interface , through which you have to run the script through. :)

Yesterday we went into a dealership and the salesman insisted that he bought the car for 8,500. He showed us a sheet from kelly Blue book saying its WORTH is 8,500. Help! G5 PPC boots up and says "can't exec /bin/sh for single user: No such file or directory"?

Help! I have a G5 PPC running on OSX 10.4 I did a .dmg reinstall from an external. Now when it comes on, after the gray apple screen, the screen goes black and says "Launched: can't exec /bin/sh for single user: No such file or directory" and the fans go crazy at full speed. I can't eject the dvd, can't start in safe mode or anything. I tried typing in commands to use fsck but no luck. Any help. I think my .dmg had a missing file.

I don't know how to proceed. I have worked at my organization (Non profit social service agency) for 10 years now. I am Assistant Director and for the duration of my 10 years working for this agency, I have never recieved disciplinary action of any sort. Overtime I have gained many relationships with co-workers including upper management. Recently I got into some financial trouble due to a gambling debt. The gambling debt took a tole on me, and I became really depressed as a result. Within the past 6 months our agency has had a major shift in management, and now I have a boss that I believe doesn't like me. Since he began working life at my job has been a living hell. His thing is he needs to get people in management that he trust not one's that he has inherited. He made this clear. Here's where things got crazy. I talked to his boss the executive director, who I believed I had a personal relationship with, about my gambling situation. I went to her because I trusted her and I wanted advice because I felt that my issues were beginning to affect my work performance and I didn't want to give my supervisor a reason to fire me. She made me feel very comfortable. She even talked to me about her husband who went through a gambling addiction etc. She encouraged me, but also encouraged me to speak directly with my immediate supervisor, due to the whole chain of command thing. So I spoke with him, asking him to give me about a week off just to get myself together and clear my head. He pretended to care, gave me some advice, and approved my time off. Not longer then the next evening I was suppose be off on vacation, he called me, asking to be available by phone during my vacation. Him and I had some words, and he pretty irate when I told him that I didn't feel like I should have to be on call and that the reason I took off was to deal with my personal issues. I spoke with HR and informed them that I felt like I was being set up, and that my supervisor was trying to make things hard for me. She told me to contact the executive director about this after I came off of vacation. This wasn't the answer I wanted so I went to my doctor who put me out of work on medical leave. I'm sure this angered my supervisor because my doctor put me out for 4-6 weeks. 3 weeks into my leave I began getting calls from my staff telling me that I am under investigation for missappropriation of agency funds. As a director I am in charge of all money for my unit. We get weekly recreation funds, and we also do a fundraiser for our positive club monthly. By policy the only funds that we are required to keep record of is the company recreation funds, which we turn in receipts for those funds. The fundraiser money we never asked to keep record of those funds; however the funds were always spend on the unit. There is noway of proving that besides them seeing exactly how the floor looks, and me telling them some of the things that was brought. The thing is we have had parties for the children as well as brought a lot of arts and crafts and things of that nature things that aren't really accounted for. The good thing for me is that this is done agency wide. I know this doesn't sound good, and this is definitely a lesson learned however, it wasn't policy. Now I returned to work last week only to be interviewed and told I was under investigation. I also find out that the supervisor that works directly under me quit, and that she is the one that my supervisor that I don't do anything with the money, and that I spend it on myself. Mind I also heard that the the girl that told these untruths is sleeping with my supervisor. I have another supervisor that works under me on a different shift and she pretty much backed up my story, and told the truth. They have interviewed my staff as well, who couldn't tell them anything because my staff dont deal directly with the money. After meeting with HR and the Exec Dir. the Exec Dir gave this speech say the situation doesn't look good because of the whole gambling thing. She asked me do I see the picture that is being painted. I told her I didn't want to be judged adnd lose my job, and reputation because of a picture that is painted. At this point they suspended without pay until the conclusion of the investigation. I know they are an at will agency which mean they can fire me even off of hear say. But I wanted to know if first off I can get unemployement, and second is there anything legal I can do, for being treated this way, all because this girl was a discruntal employee and was sleeping with the man, that I believe doesn't want me employed there anyhow. They are also interviewing people twice asking them are they telling the truth almost as if they want them to lie on me. What do I do??

You would be better off to buy the good stuff from a Carrier Dealer rather than Sears. The salesman should have told you that the Infinity control requires a new Infintiy furnace and will likely not work well (and certainly not get the desired efficiency) with your older furnace. When properly matched, the thermostat serves as the microprocessor unit that polls the connected loads and configures itself just as a plug and play component does on newer computer systems. I would be really hesitant to buy a system like this from Sears but you will love it if you get it installed by someone who knows what he/she is doing.

I am the secretary on the exec board for an organization I'm apart of. This is my second term. I was automatically put into this position on top of the one I was elected to because people said my minutes "were the best the chapter has ever had...at least since they've joined. Yesterday, I got an email from one of our active members. In order to be active you have to meet a long list of criteria. I don't think the girl that sent me the email is going to make it. I forgot she existed to be completely honest with you. I've only met her once. Well, she basically sent me a rather forward, long email making it sound like she's been doing this job forever (I'm not even sure if she's ever been secretary) and that all the things I need to do differently. most of which I already do. One of her complaints was I need to take into account people that can't come to the meetings. However, alumni that, obviously, never come to meetings have said reading my minutes was just like sitting in a meeting. The one thing I sometimes leave out is a contact person for every event but that is only when it wasn't mentioned in the meeting because it's understood the person will contact the vice president of that depart (i.e. fellowship, service, etc.). She also told me that I can get the binder explaining all of this in our organization;s cubical. I've held this position before, and was told there was no binder for it?? I'm not sure where all of this was coming from. Like I said she hasn't been to anything, and I thought her email was rather rude. I don't mind criticism. I am selling a shotshell reloading machine, and am wondering what the laws are on mailing spent shotgun shells. I would love to include them in the package (get an extra $5 and get them out of my room) but I don't know how legal it is to put spent (empty) shotgun shells in the mail. Major eye problem and pain plz help ?

We were at the beach this morning and basically my brother threw a bunch of that sand with little shells in it at my face and my eye was open when it hit and a ton of it got in my eye. I was wearing contacts when it happened btw. I couldn't open my eye for abt 5 minutes but I got some of it out so it didn't hurt when it was open. I got home & took my contacts out 20 minutes ago and i can't open my eye and it hurts really bad. it hurts if there isn't pressure on my eye so I keep one hand ovr my eye. I typed this with one eye and ionesco hand on an iPod touch :P but it hurts really bad and idk what to do. We can't afford to get an eye appointment so what should I do? I belong to a co-ed community service on campus. I am on the exec board. I never get the invites on fb for social events, but I get the ones for service events. I've talked to them about this and nothing has changed. Today, it is freezing cold and I got up at 6am, took a bus, and a train, and walked, and waited 20 min for a service project we were supposed to do off campus. When I didn't see anyone. I called the girl that was supposed to be driving us there and she said it was canceled and she sent a text message. I received no text message but was so upset I told her I'd see her Tues., thanked her, and hung up. No one else was there that I could see. She then sends a text minutes later, saying the one she sent didn't go through and that it was canceled. This isn't the first time this has happened with them.

What is DRM and why is it an important feature?

I'm thinking of upgrading to Windows 7 but the salesman at a local electronics store confused me as he told me about the different editions and said that I NEED to upgrade from Windows XP because XP lacks DRM and according to him, my computer will be unable to play DVDs, Blu-Ray Discs, and any high definition movies. I asked a couple of friends about DRM and they were against it (one even discontinued using Windows and uses only Linux because he says Apple also has DRM). Their claims is that it is basically spyware that will be used by the RIAA, MPAA and others to keep tabs on your movies, songs, and other digital media which concerned me since I don't want anyone collecting information from my computer without my permission and already dislike the Windows Genuine (whatever it's called) that makes sure we have a legitimate copy of windows and one time incorrectly identified my legal copy of Windows XP as a pirated copy. What happens if DRM misidentifies a song, movie, or other content you legally own as pirated copies? Will I be able to backup songs, movies, and digital content without it flagging machine. Is what my friends explain about DRM accurate? They also claim that DRM ruins the playback of songs and movies. I'm lost, what is DRM and why is it such a great feature of Windows 7 (along with Windows Vista and Apple computers)? Why is Linux refusing to embrace this feature if their users won't be able to play CD's, DVD's, Blu-Ray Discs, etc? I've never heard of DRM until the salesman mentioned that Windows 7 has it and most hardware and CPU's have DRM support built in and he claims my current computer won't work any longer with digital media and my friends knew about DRM and were opposed to it.

I found out that many singaporeans are eating turtles as their dinner and lunch dishes.. most popular eaten turtles are eared eared sliders, soft shelled turtles, and even snake head turtles.. i went to many markets in singapore, and was shocked to find that turtles that are sold for restaurant tables are mostly found in the town side of singapore, like chinatown.. when i got to a market near chinatown, i saw many juvenile or roughly big red eared sliders kept in cages..each cage containing at least 10 to 20 live red eared sliders. the space was seriously cramped. the soft shelled turtles are all stuffed into ann empty pail, all waiting to be sold or killed on the spot. what shocked me most was when i saw the man selling them just use a knife and a sharp metal equipment cutting open the shell of a red eared slider, and digging and slicing the flesh out of a live red eared slider, while it just screeched and groaned in pain... this was consequently done the same to other turtles, frogs and fishes that were sold there.. i just cannot bear to see these people doing things like this just to satisfy their eating needs.. there are so many things they could eat, but why must they purposely breed turtles and other creatures just to kill and eat them? the reason they give is that the population of these creatures are overly populated, so they have to reduce the number of these creatures.. but seriously, they are the ones that breed them out of greed! please give me your views, thanks.

What options do we have if used car dealer refuses to do repair stated in "WE OWE" contract signed by both par?

Weeks go by my wife and I call them and tell them we are not happy and want the car fixed or returned and they only tell us to bring in and trade for something else. We are not going to lose money on a trade when we have a written contract for work to be done. Just spoke to the finance manager the other day and he tells me they only agreed to recharge A/C, didn't want to argue with this guy, he abruptly tells me he has to go to a meeting he would call back. Three days later no phone calls. Playing nice doesn't work. I'm done at this point. I contacted States Attorney and some lawyers. Is this breech of contract? Can we sue to have the car returned and have the contract null and void?

This is sort of a hypothetical question but here it goes. Let’s say my friend and I have an awesome screenplay written. And we got it into a production company exec who loves it; the company wants to buy and make it, period. Now let’s also say that my friend and I have a production company of our own. However, our company really only consists of a licensed name and very small company bank account because it’s brand new (no real money or contacts). How do we go about dealing with this other production company, and make ourselves partners on the project (aka getting our company name on as a co-producer and what not) and even possibly being development producers on it. I know it’s a lot to hope for, but I dream big. So any ideas on how to go about something like this. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Should I switch jobs? decent pay not enough hours.?

Hi first off thank you all for taking time to read this. I could really use some opinions from everyone. Well to start I am currently employed as a martial arts instructor. making 12 dollars an hour and also 10 dollars an hour while doing other work in our facility such as fitness things ect. When i first started I was on salary and very happy without any benefits at all such as health insurance ect. I recently got taken off salary and had my hours cut down very low with still no benefits, I have been searching for jobs and got an interview with a new and used subaru dealership for a salesman position and I scored the job. this is a nationwide dealership and I would have great benefits, I do not know how the pay or commision works but this job almost sounds to good to be true. I would like to sell cars and hopefully make more money as I am gettin almost no hours 25 or less a week, so anything sounds better especially for being 20 years old. so my question is should i switch i dont see my hours at my current job going up, how is being a new and used car salesman? as long as I make money I am happy. I am told I have a very great personality and easy to carry a long conversation with. as well as my interviewer says that I have the perfect personality to sell cars. any thoughts on if this is a good idea to switch? thank you all very much I know this is a long post , but I appreciate your help

Unappreciated gift dilemma, advice?

My sister inlaw made a blanket for my sisters baby daughter. She hand painted it and put alot of effort in it. Problem is im pretty sure my sister is not going to like it because I know her tastes. THe problem is here: "score = new Scanner.nextInt();" you are using int type to enter data into String score. That is not permitted. Scanner cannot accomodate Strings. The best one to use is BufferedReader br=new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in)); Its working is same as DataInputStream plus it is highly efficient. Use score=br.readLine(); for string input.

How do I get in shape for Marine Recruit Training?

I'm 17, and just enlisted into the USMC under the delayed entry program. I can already perform the entry physical (1.5 miles in like, 13 minutes or something, 60 crunches, and 5 pull-ups), but I would like to be less.. well.. shell-shocked upon entry. Does anyone know any decent exercises that would help when I enter recruit training in about a year? By the way, I wasn't sure which topic to put this under.. Sports Or Military? Oh well.

About 6 months ago my parents split and my dad rented a small house and bought some sketchy used furnature from a used salesman... Ever sence we've had bed bugs, my parents recently got back together and we are all living in my dads rented house. We are all moving back to our house soon what should we do?! Arch Linux LXDE pcmanfm.conf issue?

I'm running Arch Linux with LXDE and SLIM. It used to work, but I did an update, and now when I run exec ck-launch-session startlxde (from cli or SLIM), it gives me an error that says something along the lines of "Missing pcmanfm.conf", and it won't start. I have to manually start Arch in runlevel 3 and type startx to get to my desktop which, btw, removed my wallpaper? Idk if that helps or not... I'd like to get this fixed though. Thanks.

Why don't banks want to hire accountants?

I'm currently in school working on my Bachelors degree, majoring in accounting. I've applied at 8 different banks, but can't even get an interview. I have a 3.30 GPA and trying to get the "work experience" needed w/ my degree. But it seems banks are looking for more of a salesman, than someone that can balance the books and keep their money where it belongs. IMO...I can see why so many banks are going belly up now days. Is it just me, or do most banks not care where their money goes now days?
